Preparing Pasta for Dinner

Preparing pasta for dinner is quick, simple and healthy. But, why do a lot of women avoid pasta? Is pasta really fattening?

Many of us think that since pasta is rich in carbohydrates, it puts on weight. But, just like any other food group, eating too many of them will put on weight, so perhaps if you eat ten bowls of pasta a day, then you gain those unwanted pounds.

Eating your rich-carb foods in balance do not make you fat any more than protein does. For so many years, pasta has been part of a well-balanced diet for most people. It is a complete source of complex carbohydrates which the body needs for refueling energy. Pasta is known low in sodium and is cholesterol free.

Customarily, people eat pasta in the usual serving with meats, poultry, fish, olive oil, cheese, tomato sauce, vegetables and fruits. The phytonutrients present in the whole grains, plus the essential vitamins and minerals coming from all the ingredients make a serving of pasta one of the healthy foods.
